winnter learning journey

today I learn that Over four hundred years ago Maori people voyaged thousands of miles across the vast unknown Pacific Ocean in small ocean-going canoes and became the first inhabitants of Aotearoa New Zealand.Europen people were worried before they go off the edge of the world.

  1. Kia ora Viliami,

Welcome to the holiday blogging programme! It is great to have you as a member of the Winter Learning Journey team. It is also nice to see that you have located a pretty amazing looking New Zealand flag. It's huge! Where did you find it? It would be awesome to have you include the link for the website where you found it in your blog post. That way we, as readers, know who originally created the picture and we can attribute (give) credit to the authors. To add an attribution to your blog post, simply cut and paste the url for the website into your blog post.

I hope that you enjoyed learning a bit more about New Zealand through participating in this activity. I can tell from your post that you did some great research about the first inhabitants of New Zealand - the Maori. I wonder what they thought when they first arrived on the shores of this country. Do you think that they would have been nervous or excited? I would imagine that they would have been pretty uncertain and a bit nervous...

    What do you think?

I hope that you're able to continue to blog with us over the holiday. I really enjoyed reading your post and looking at the NZ flag image.

    Keep up the great work!

    ~Rachel

  2. Hi Viliami. It's great to see you participating in the Winter Learning Journey. I wonder why the Europeans thought they were falling off the edge of the world. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts.
