Area and Perimeter

Google Drawing
The second google drawing

LI: To learn more about area and perimeter.
This week for maths we learned about area and perimeter. So we first had to get into partners then we had to watch the area and the perimeter video after that we had to write about it on a google drawing with your partners then we were given a google drawing to write the answers of the areas and the perimeter shapes. 

Pedestrian, Traffic lights and Roundabouts


LI:To learn more about traffic lights,pedestrians and roundabouts.
This week for inquiry we had to find information about the three things we have learned about. So I did the traffic light in my writing I wrote who invented the traffic light and the traffic signal and I even explained about why the traffic lights was made and what it means.

Kiwi Sport/Swimming


LI: To learn how to swim.
This week for kiwi sport we did swimming so we first started by wearing our life jackets then we had to stand up near the pool and do the pencil dive. So when you do the pencil dive you hold your shirt our life jacket and use the other hand to cover your noise and walk into the pool and you will fall in. After that we created a circle floating on each other then we created a circle holding on to each others back. After that we did a challenge and that was to touch the pool floor with a life jacket it was hard but I mange to do it. Then we had to float on our backs to the end of the swimming pool which was very easy then we started to swim on our belly by using our hand to pull us up. After that we had to take off our life jacket and get changed into our uniform and get back to school to blog about this.

Kiwi Can


LI: To Learn more about resilience and problem solving. 
This week for kiwi can we first started by siting in a circle. As soon as we were ready we did our kiwi can handshake. Then we talked about Problem solving and resilience. After that we played a game named hoop do hoop in the game there would be hoops and we had to jump in them and try and get to the other side by playing rock paper shoot my squad won with three points. Then we talked about getting help and showing confidence. After that we played our last game and that was mat doge ball in the game we had to get into teams when your number is called then you have to go into the middle of the circle and try and not get hit by the ball if you get hit then you have to try and hit your teammates with your ball the winner will vs other winners in other teams. After that we played GKQ if you didn't know about it in the game you have to answer questions from the teachers after that we got into our points we earned 25 out of 25. 

Cuchulainn


LI: to identify the purpose of narratives.
This week for reading we had to think of a culture myth and write about it. I wrote about Cuchulainn from ireland. So I had to create a DLO about cuchulainn explaining what happened in his past his life is very interesting cause when I was researching about him I found intresting factts about him and its in the DLO. I hope you learned more about this Irish myth.

City Scrape/Sunset and sturcters


LI: To create a city Scrape.
This week for art intensive week we made a city scrape. So we first started by picking a city I picked a Canadian city and it was Toronto. Then we had to cover all of the building on a google draw with black type of shape. After we covered it all we had to make our google draw page A four Size. Then after we were done we had to download the City Scrape but in png. After that that we had to people the png photo into a shared folder that Mr Wong shared to us and then Mr Wong will take the photos and print them. Then we had to cut the photo out and leave the black piece there. After that we had to get A  A four sized scrap paper that is in different colours and use it to create your own background for the city scrape. Then when we did that we had to wait for our names to get called out to get our city scrape and glue it on the background.

Story

LI: To write a story about the charters you picked.
This week for writing we had to add up all the learning we did last week and make a narrative about it. So before we did this narrative we planed about it. On the first week we planed whats gonna happen in the story then on the second week we had to plan about the charters on the third week we had to talk about the setting and our fourth week we learned more about a story.

International Structures


LI: To explain information about the buildings.
This week for inquiry we had to create a animation but I wasn't here when they taught it So I had to create a google maps showing famous Structures from country's. around the world. So I first used my researching skills to find out about different structures and find information about them. first we had to find a building that I know so well I picked the sky tower. After I put stuff I already knew about the sky tower I did some researching to find out more about it. So we had to do that over and over again but with different Buildings.

Kiwi Sport

This week for Kiwi sport we did swimming so we first started by geting on the bus and going to the swimming pools then we got off and walked to the entrance and greet the person in the office they were pretty nice people. After that we got to the pools and swamp our cloths into our swimming gear. So we first learned lessons about the stuff that we learned last week. We learned that if your gonna save someone you have to go with something that can float and give the floating object to them so the floating object can save his life.

Then we learned how to actually do the lesson by getting into partners and saving each other before they drowning. We all did it and it was successful  then we learned how to float underwater and our legs was to move your legs in circles and put your arm up straight and yell help if your drowning. Then we did the lessons and followed the rules. It was hard but we tried our best. Then he asked if we wanted to do a challenge and we said yes and the challenge was to get to the end of the swimming pool without stooping. But we didn't have enough time to do it so it will be next week.

Izanagi and Izanami


LI: to identify the underlying morals/themes/explanations in myths, legends, and fairy tales.
This week for reading we were learning about myths and legends there were different myths and legends and we had to pick I picked the Japanese Myth and legend. So we had to put facts and information into the google slide then we had to add a video or a audio about the people you guys are finding information about.

Kiwi Can

LI: To Know how to solve your problems and show resilience. 
This week for kiwi can we had a new topic and that was problem solving. Problem solving is when your doing something you always have a problem with but a few seconds later you solve it.  So we first started by getting welcome respectable by our Kiwi can teachers then we had to sit in the matt in a circle with or eyes facing the kiwi can teachers and we also had to cross or legs and arms. After we talked about our new topic we got to play a game. In the game that we played we had to get into squads and then tangle or arms up and we had to try and make a proper circle it was fun but we cam last at least we tried. Then we sat on the mat and started talking about resilience. After our conversation we played another game that named matt doge ball in the game or teachers will give us a number and when ever they say that number we have to get into the middle and the people that siting has to try and hit us with the ball by Rowling it. Then we played our last game which was QKQ in the game or kiwi can teachers will ask us questions and we had to try and get them right the questions was hard and easy at the same time we were this respectful but we hope we show my respect next week.

Different Angles

LI: identify and construct right, acute and obtuse angles
This week for maths we were learning about different angles. So we first started by getting a sheet from Miss Linker then we used a protector to Me sure the angles. After we were done we got on the mat and listened if we got our answers right. The task was petty hard and easy at the same time. So if you wanna use a protector to measure lines then there would be a circle on the bottom of the protector and you have to put the bottom of the line into the circle and then it will show what angle it is really is.

This week for writing we were learning how to write a description. So we had to copy and paste the words on our charter slide and the setting slide and put it on a google drawing then we had to make a more complexes sentence about our charter. We had to add smiles,Metaphors, Understatement, Hyperbole and more.

Kiwi Sport//Swiming

LI: To learn water safety.
This week for kiwi sport we did swimming. So we first started by getting on the bus to the destination where the swimming pools was at. Then when we got inside we greeted the people that welcomed us into the swimming pool after that we change into our swimming cloths and went to our teachers. But first we learned what to do when someone is droning the teachers told us if someone is drowning go with anything that can float on the water and throw it to them so they can float and swim back to the land. So after that our teachers told us to get into the swimming pool. Then he taught us this skill and that was to float on your back and use your hands to like pull your self to the end of the pool. Then we learned a different skill and that was to swim on your tummy and kick six time then swim on your back and kick six times and do it over and over again. After that we tired that skill again to see if we can do it and we did. Lastly we learned how to doge a wave and the swimming said that if a way is coming up high dive under it. That was one of the most careful lesson because if your in a beach and a big wave is about to hit you you might drown but you can just swim under it. Then we went to change and got on the bus and got back to school and blogged about the kiwi sport.

About Maui


L.I: to find information about Maui
This week for reading had to make a DLO explaining who Maui is. It was similar as last week about the tengu. So We first had to answer these questions on a google slide Mr Wong shared to us before we were reading the book then while we were reading the book we had to answer more question then when we finished we had to try and answer the questions Mr Wong told us to think of a answer. Then after that we made a DlO about Maui and explained who he was and what he was.

Math Angles


This  week for maths we learned about angles. So we first started by learning maths angles from Mr Ogilve then we started to play a game about angles which was pretty cool. Then we had to make a google slide about the different angles explain what they are. There is a right angle, A Acute angle, A obtuse angle, a reflex angle and a straight angle. So when we made the google slide we had to yes objects to show people how the angle works.


Bridges

LI: To Make a google maps with bridges around the world and New Zealand.
This week for inquiry we had to learn how to make something on the google maps. So we had to find bridges from around the world and right a description about it on google maps. So we had to at least have more then three bridges from new Zealand and more from around the world. So I did a bridge in Canda,China, United states, Italy, England, Australia and New Zealand. This task was amazing because we got to learn about famous bridges from around the world.

Maths//3d Shapes

L.I to make 3D shapes with toothpicks and blue tack.
This week for maths we had to create a three d shape with tooth picks and blue tack. So my first shape was the square prism. The square prism has six faces six vertices and five edges. My next shape was a Triangular pyramid it has five edges five vertices and five faces. My last shape was a Square prism
it has twelve edges eight vertices and six faces.

Inquiry//Bridges//This Vs That



LI: To learn the history of all bridges around the world.
This week for inquiry we learned about bridges in new Zealand and around the world. So we learned about them then we had to do a this vs that. If you didn't know what is this vs that its a document that has tasks to do in it. So in each this vs that sheet we had to chose a bridge from new Zealand and around the world. For our international bridge we did the golden gate bridge which is a very famous bridge. For the two new Zealand bridges we did the Auckland harbour bridge and the kawarou bridge. Me and my partner learned a lot in inquiry we learned about types of bridges and history of bridges around the world.

Kiwi Sport

LI: To learn water safety.
We first started by staying at class and doing inquiry then Mr Ogilvie called out year fours and year fives to go swimming. After Moring tea we had to line up outside and get ready to hop on the Bus. When we got on the bus we had to go to the swimming pools when we got there we changed our uniform and went to our teachers. When we got to our teachers we learn about this type of dangerous sickness people need to watch out for. Its similar to a fever. They explain to us how you get the sickness so they said if you see someone talking funny our walking funny then you will have to call the doctor because this sickness can cause death. So you people should watch out if you see someone doing that also if you are hot and you jump into cold water then you will have the sickness I think I don't remember that much. So after that we had to get into our class. So we first started by doing our diving into the water and swimming with out doing armstrocks. Then we had to do the swimming with your arms and we mange to complete it. Then we learned how to go on our front of our body and going on our backs. Then we did the dolphins swimming dive. Then we did a challenge and that was to swim to do end of the swimming pool with out touching the floor we did it and Some of us didn't complete it and some of us did complete it. Then our teacher told us some skills to do before geting out of the swimming pool it was fun and we all enjoyed it.

Smart Media

L.I: Is to make a word cloud about blogging.
This week for cyber smart we had to take a photo of our self and use keywords to describe your self in the photo. Then we had to put those keywords on a word cloud after that we had to describe how people would think if they saw my blog post. We had to write all the words that they would say and put it into a word cloud.

Tengu

LI : To learn about the tengu and the history behind it
This week for reading we had to read a story about a magical goblin but it was named tengu. So when we were reading the story we also had to come up with answers for the questions or teacher told us. After that we had a conversation with Mr Wong and told him the answers of his questions. After that we had to get in pairs or groups we got into groups and created a DLO about the tengu we also found images of how a tengu looks like.

Kiwi Can

LI: To learn how to show respect.
This week for kiwi can we learn a lot of stuff. We first started by lining up outside of our class room then walking to the kiwi can room. We had to line up outside of the kiwi can room so the teachers can come and greet us. Then when we got inside we had to get into four lines silently. So when we got into our line we did the kiwi can handshake then started our learning they first started by asking us what was the theme and what is the topic. It was resilience and goal setting. So after that we got to play our warm up game. The game is called snatch in the game at the beginning you will be handed a rope to hold with others then you put it on the floor and then the teachers will put cones in the middle of the circle. So basically you have to try and snatch the cones from the floor before others but the rules were no diving. Then we started talking about goal setting. If you didn't know what goal setting is its something you wanna be our do in the future. After our conversation we played our activity named  octopus but in a different way so there would be one person in the middle and they have to try and hit us with the object but if you get touched buy it then you will be in and have to stand still in own spot and tag people without moving your legs. Then we played GKQ in the game our teacher will basically tell us something and we had to answer that question.

Panmure bridge history


LI: To learn about the history of panmure bridge.
This week for inquiry we learned about the history of panmure bridge. If you didn't know the panmure bridge was built six times. In the slide we had to do what the slide says because in the slide Mr Wong and Mr Ogilvie already put the activity we are suppose to do in the slide so we did it but first we had to read off a website that has the photo of all six panmure bridges. This task was enjoyably because we got to learn the history of panmure bridge.

Describing Characters


LI:To Plan a Narrative.
This week for writing we had to plan or Describe how the characters we picked from last week looks like. So we first started by planing our story and who our charters was last week then this week we had to explain how they look like and what is there personalty is like. If you have five characters then you have to make a copy of five slides and explain how those five characters look like and how there personalty is like.

Kiwi Sport

LI: To learn water safety and skill.
This Term for Kiwi Sport we did swimming. We first had to do our inquiry work then Mr Wong and Mr Ogilvy Calls all of the year four,five and six one by one to go and change then go swimming. The year fours went first then the year five then the year six. As we got to the YMCA Swimming place the year fives left so it was our turn to have the swimming season. We first learned how to swim with our hands and legs. It was Hard for some people but it was not for me. The people that are swimming experts are in class three which is the top class then the people that are kind of good at swimming in the water is the people that are second to last top class. So after we learned how to swim with or hand and legs perfectly we had to do it again so we can get understand how to do it. Then we learned how to dive throw the hop and back up top of the water. It was easy for me I don't know how because I am very tall. Then we learned how to swim on our back it was easy for me again but some people found it hard because the had no experience with pool water. Then we did a petty hard skill and that was to spin underwater while breathing I did it and asked if I did it great and he said yes but some people didn't wanna do it cause it looked hard. Then we had to go and change our clothes into school uniform and go back on the bus back to panmure bridge to do some learning and blog about it.

Reading






LI:Work on the Prior Knowledge section
This week for reading we first started by learning what to do show we had to make a copy of the google slide Mr Wong told us to do. In the google slide we had to think of strategies to do when reading as you can see in the google slide me and Xavier made has Reading strategies to do while reading or to do before reading. Then we had to make a venn Diagram showing the difference between Myths,Legends and Fairy tall also what they all have in common on it we wrote That Myths and Fairy tall both include magical monsters. On the google slide me and Xavier prefer to Predict before reading the book. If you don't know what predict means it means to think about what is going to happen in the story before reading it.

Cybersmart


LI: to identify the purpose of the information presented in media.
This week for cyber smart we did some word cloud in a word art you have to think of words you think matters like care. So we first watch the incredible two trailer then we had to explain why they made the trailer we all agreed that the point of making the trailer is so people that haven't watched it give interest into the movie. Then we read a article on kiwi kids news saying that Jacinda Ardern is back into prime minster because she went away for a bet. Then we had to explain why they had to tell us about it and we all agreed that it was made so people can get a warning the Jacinda Ardern is not PM for now. Then we watched a warehouse advertisement and we had to explain we they made we all agreed that they made it so people can buy cheep stuff from there market to fix there problems. Then we had to make a copy of a slide and put a photo of your self that can go on your blog and a other photo that you can show family. Then we had to go on a website named Wordart.com and make our own word cloud

Kiwi Can


This week for kiwi can we first started getting welcomed into kiwi can then we had to get into four lines. We first started by playing a game named snatch in the you will get a tag and you had to put the tag in your pocket tightly then you have to spread out far away from people because if your standing near one you can ether snatch there tag or they snatch yours in the first game I stayed in one corner and made the people do all the work so I can be the last man standing but I thought it was only me vs one girl but one other girl should up and snatch my tag so I was out. In the second round I did the same Strategy and got into a draw I mange to get one person out but it was only me vs one girl but i tried to take the tag but time was up. Then we sat on the mat and talked about what our goal was and how would you achieve it then we played our activity in the activity we had to get into partners boys and girls in the game we get a soccer ball and we had to try and beat the other team buy putting the ball on the body part our teachers tell us to put it on and have a race but my team lost but at least we tried our best. Then we had to get back to class and write our blog post our points for kiwi can was twenty four out of twenty five.
