Te Tiriti o Waitangi

This week Marieta, Sakina, Matthew and I worked together to create a DLO of a story called "Te Tiriti o Waitangi". In other words The Treaty of Waitangi. For this task we first read the story then moved on to doing the DLO. For this DLO we did a few reading activities which were vocabulary, summaries and seeing it from both sides. For the seeing it from both sides we needed to choose a question from the learning conversation slide.

Summer Learning Journey Assembly

This week we had a special assembly it was about the summer learning journey program. So this was the first assembly of the year 2019. So the summer learning journey team came to our school to hand out rewards for joining the the summer learning journey and doing the task. So I got a certificate for joining the program. Then they handed out bags with amazing stuff in it for the people that manage to finish the program. Then they handed out other amazing stuff. So one of the people came third place in the program in our school and got better rewards and her name was Victoria so congrats to you. The person who came second place in our school and our area is Mele and lastly the person who came first place manage to get first out of the whole country and school he did well and also the next time the summer learning journey happens Im gonna try and come first place just like Alex. Thank you to the summer learning journey team for coming to our school.

Role Model vs Hero/Similarities and Differences

This week Marieta,Miiana,Sakina,Alex and I worked together as a group to complete our inquiry task. So our task was to to create a DLO comparing and telling the differences between a role model and a hero we desided as a group to create a venn diagram. So the red side is where we compared a role model and a hero and the other side we wrote the differences between them two. 

Leadership

This week we've been learning about leadership. Miiana,Joel,Sakina,Marieta,Alex and I worked together to create a DLO on what a leader is, what goals we have as leaders this year, what responsibilities we have as leaders this year and what makes a good leader. For what makes a good leader we wrote things like: Someone who can step down and let others have a turn, someone who can take the initiative and someone who can learn from both their mistakes and successes.

Care Values

 Today Alex,Marieta,Sakina,Joel and I worked together to create a DLO on our school's CARE Values. In it we needed to include how we could show the values and what they mean, an additional task was to brainstorm how we could use pictures to show what the values would look like. For the confidence value we chose to have someone standing up and pretending to present their work which would take confidence and for other values we had raising one's hand to answer a question, picking up rubbish around the school and completing a set task.

You are my Sunshine//Summer Learning Journey

So on this task they talked about the fact about the sun which can cause skin cancer and other illness. So we had to list five things we should do to protect our selves from the sun.

Wear a hat

Wear Sun cream

Always hold a umbrella

Create shelter near shade

Wear shirts that covers your whole arm.  

A Heated Debate//Summer Learning Journey

So on this task we had write down what time in the year people should come and visit. So It was pretty hard to make choice of what time of the year tourist should come on but lucky the put up a website to make a proper choice. So I think tourist should come and visit on summer because we would be able to go to beaches on sunny days. The best places i'd say I would take them is to rainbow end because it's a good place to show others how great new Zealand is. Then I would take them to mega zone so I can play inside games with tourist when it's raining. The last place I would take them is gonna be a new Zealand's beaches because we have beautiful beaches.
