This week at Tech for graphic design's we continue to try and finish our layout of our game so we can soon use the 3D Printer to print out what we need for the game. After that we got to make a moon on tinkerpad.com which is the website you use to print out your games. But we used it to practice and learn how to use it. So first when we started making the moon we had a shape of a cylinder we made the width larger and the height taller so we can copy the shape and then group them together then it should get rid of half of the shape then it will make it look like a moon. Then we started by making two circles that are the same height and width then in the middle of both of them would be a square but the same size as well. If you group them then it would make it look like a pill then we would copy it and make it a little smaller then group them then there should be a hole in the middle. Then we added the first letter of our first names and last names. Then we got to make our teacher it was fun cause we were starting on the website so it might look bad like mine, Now we are used to using the website cause of the practice we had also our teacher said whoever has the best looking one gets there one printed. Tech was actually fun and educational.
I was a Year 7 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I was in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

HIIT
So this week we had no kiwi sport so our PE teacher called our class to come and do HIIT. So we were working on our body strength. So we started off my doing boxing we had our right arm on our cheek and with our left arm we had to try and touch each others shoulders if we did touch there shoulders then they had to do a burpee our a press up. Then we wore our heart rate monitors and we were working on our strength to make our heart rate come up. We did pull ups and most of the pull ups I did boosted my energy up. Then we did press up's and then mountain climbers. Then we had to get into a circle and we had to follow the pattern of the song which was called Bring Sally up and we did squats well following the pattern and we had to try and make people finish the song with out stopping.

Math's game//Number Challanges
So this week we got to make our on maths game. So since it's nearly the end of term 2 we decide to gather up all our prior knowledge and make a maths game about different strategy's we did this term. So I decided to make a basic facts maths game so more people can get fluent with there basic facts. It was hard making a maths game because we had to link the right stuff to each other. So after I finished my game I added characters that I made and made it into a GIF. Then we would put it on the correct answer slide or the wrong answer slides. After that I let a few people play my game but my feedback was that my questions were to hard if you want to make people fluent with there basic facts. I didn't get time to fix it. Then we presented our maths games to the whole class and I also got the same feed back so I fixed my maths game and made it better. I felt such a relief to finally finish my game

Tech//Graphic Design
This week at tech the year 7 group were working on choosing a game we can play on paper and turning it into a 3D game but before that we got into groups of 3 people or 2. So we had to think of how we can turn it into a 3D game. The game we started to focus on was hangman my group decided just to use Lego blocks to build the structure and so it was easy to build it. Our first idea was to to curve out a wooden person and wooden hook and us strings to pull the person up but we thought that it might be to complex. We also had two games but we would be working on the other game next week.

Kiwi Can//Reflection
This week for kiwi can our topic was integrity and our theme was responsibility. So first up we got into five lines then we started talking about what we do at school that is responsibility. Then we got to play a game and in the game we had a partner and there was a cone in the middle of us and our kiwi can teachers say to touch your heads, knees and toes then you could try and grab the cone before your partner. It was fun because we got to work on our body movement. Then we started talking about our topic and theme it felt good to know that I was showing responsibility at school. Then we played another game which was more fun cause we had to try and focus on the ball and jumping over the skipping rope at the same time who ever missed catching the ball went into the middle and had to swing the rope around but carefully cause it might cause injuries. I had fun at kiwi can.

Kiwi Sport//Gymnastics
This term for kiwi sport we had gymnastics. Our coach's name was Steve and he taught us to not be afraid and give a shot of everything. So my group started by jumping on a trampoline and do a forward roll on the mat I tried it and it was fun our coach didn't recommend doing a flip but just roll. Then we got into the next station and on that station we had to do a handstand on the wall and also pull your self up on a bar it was hard for me I couldn't properly do all of the activity's but I gave all of them a try. Then on our last station we had to balance on the beam and jump in the middle of it and still balance. Then we had to do a cartwheel then we had to forward roll down the mat.

Vostok 1
My favourite part was making the rocket drawing. Also we used every bit of time usefully to find info and to confirm our information. Another favourite part was hearing what Gagarin said after orbiting the earth. The quote is from 1961 but i still believe it is true today. We should all be cooperating with each other not fighting.
“Looking at the earth from afar you realise it is too small for conflict and just big enough for cooperation”.

Kiwi Can
This term's topic at Kiwi Can is Integrity. The definition of Integrity is to be responsible even though no ones looking. I learned at kiwi can to own up to the right things and also tell the truth our it would cause more problems. I understood more as I was at Kiwi Can about Integrity and Honesty. We also got to play a Role play game. We each had to get into groups and also each group got a object. My group had a wallet we never knew the object the other groups had but our group got a Idea to show honesty. Our Role play was about showing honesty about who's wallet it is and give it to the rightful owner. One of the groups had a ball as there object because they had to represent owning up to the right thing. I felt great that I was learning more about Integrity and Honesty.
Sputnik 1,2,3//The Space Race
Today My reading group were reading a book called space race. The space race book is about the soviet union launching the first satellite before USA. The book was very interesting because I learned more words like flopnik and sputnik. Sputnik means Traveller in Russian and Flopnik means failed traveller in Russian. The first satellite that soviet union launch was called sputnik 1 and many more satellite that were launch by the soviet union. The satellites were Sputnik 1, Sputnik 2 and Sputnik 3. My group then created a slide about those three satellites we all worked and different things some of us work together to write down stuff like timeline and explanation. I was writing about Sputnik 3 and did you know that it was 23 inches but weighted 184 pounds. Then we presented it as a group to each other and our teacher and we got some positive feedback. We needed to work on some stuff but I believe we surprised her.

This week for tech I was up to sawing my wood plank. So our teacher Mr Grundy had a white board list when we don't know what to do then we write our name on the board and he will call your name and come to you and help you. Without the process I wouldn't understand what to do. So I was suppose to make a joint and I am almost finish doing it I just need to clear a hole that my plank can fit in. After that we got to play a game it include small sticks and the last person with the last stick is out. If we win against Mr Grundy we win a handful of M&Ms.

Agent of Change
Today my task was to create a google drawing about my learning goals and my agent of change. Agent of change is someone that changes a problem into a changing opportunities. One of my learning goals was to become a student leader and set a example to the kids. I also want to be confident enough to share my ideas with my group even when I think it's wrong.

Kokako Lodge//Siri
Today, we have been given a challenge for writing by our teacher Mrs Anderson. Our challenge was to write in exactly 50 words, a response that Siri (An automated program on Apple devices) would give us if we asked it "Why Kokako Lodge is the greatest place to take year 7 and 8's on camp?" Although Mrs Anderson wanted to make this more of a challenge. So what we could do is gain points by using different Language features that would give us 5 points each. If every feature was used, then you could gain a total of 40 points. Although for another 5 points, you needed to make sure that everyone in your group was working together, and that a learning conversation was taking place. If you had exactly 50 words, and you used different references, you could even have 100 points total! Once you finished writing, you needed to digitally create a Siri conversation showing Siri's answer. The final step was to create a Screencastify that had us voicing over the whole conversation. For this activity, I worked with Julian, Alex, and Jack. We had a lot of fun, and enjoyed recording the most.

Dare//Impact Message
This week for Inquiry as a class we created our own poster to warn people of the Impact they will get when they drink and drive. I decide to work in partners and together we created a DLO about Drinking and Driving. Before we created this DLO a police officer named Constable Cyrus came to talk to us about what could happen when you drink to much and smoke to much and more stuff. After that we talked with our teacher about what we could write on our posters.
Thank you Constable Cyrus for joining us with our learning.

A boy on a bike
This week we were learning about a book named a boy on a bike. The book is about a boy and his dad that travels around New Zealand to raise money for the Saint John's company. The boys name was called Mac he wanted to ride around the North Island on his bike to make people know he is serious about raising money for the Saint John's so they can buy ambulances and other gear. Our task was to reflect where mac went to and what he did. I think he was so brave to stand up for the Saint Johns company to raise more money for the Saint John's company to get more ambulances and more gear.
